The Fish Tacos Gyro and Bison Burger each showcase a creative twist on familiar favorites, while traditional comfort classics such as the Steak and Eggs Any Style and Fried Chicken Dinner provide hearty satisfaction. The atmosphere at Waterloo is a blend of nostalgic charm and contemporary comfort. As one guest put it, the prices are very reasonable for the generous portions and quality, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions—despite being somewhat of a destination for some customers.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Akron, Waterloo Restaurant & Catering embodies comfort, community, and cuisine in a way few can imitate. It invites you to savor each bite—from the first sip of their fresh house salad dressing to the last trail of crumbs from the gigantic cream puff—leaving you eager to return for the familiar flavors wrapped in heartfelt service.
I have eaten here twice in the last month. Food was excellent. Their creme puff was really good.
It's been many years since I was here last (way before Google reviews) and it was just as good as I remembered! Totally redone and a very nice place to dine. Everything was good, I met here with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. Cream puff is a must and enough for 4 people!! Pictures do not do it justice. The major reason to come back is that the cream puff and prices are very friendly for the quality of the dinners.
My daughter just moved to Akron, we stopped in and tried the Waterloo restaurant recently. I haven't eaten there in over 30 years. Myself. Restaurant is spotless clean and nicely decorated. Food prices are very reasonable and portions are nice. The staff has been awesome to work with too. They remember us. When we come back. We'll definitely be enjoying the food here more frequently
The food was very good with a really sweet wait person. The service was good, and menu choices and cost were very good. Clean and pretty environment and decor. Have been going there off and on for many years. It is a special occasion to go there since it is somewhat far away from where we live
The outer dining area is beautifully decorated for the holidays. We were escorted to the back dining area which was lacking in charm, but after requesting a seat in the lovely decorated area out front, we were more than satisfied and our service and food were both outstanding. The special of the day was chicken pot pie with a salad and homemade bread. The white French salad dressing was also house made and wonderful. Our meals were delicious! We will definitely go back to this established restaurant. It's a great value for the dollars spent.
First off our waitress Ashley was great. She was the only one for the whole restaurant. But she did a great job. Now for the food. I had 4 piece White Chicken. It cam out Hot and juicy. The twist was mild but good. The only thing I would do in a bit more spices. The onion rings where great big and fat and real. The past was good. And was a great generous helping. The Brisket burger was Amazing. A real hamburger and then Brisket on top. Great idea. I haven't been there in years so I walked in and was thinking of Liver and onions . But thats off themenu. Over all great portions and really good food. Again Ashley great job.. Highly recommend you stop in. WE WILL BE BACK SOON.
